First thing’s first, you’ll need a Wikipedia account:
Getting started is as easy as 1,2,3…
- Create a Wikipedia account
You should ideally create a Wikipedia account at least 4 days before a Wikipedia editing event as new users cannot create new pages on the English Wikipedia until their account has been registered for 4 days and they have accrued over 10 edits. - If you are logged in to Wikipedia, join the Celtic Knot Translation workshop page here. (Click ALLOW to permit the Dashboard page to interact with your Wikipedia account).
- Enable the Content Translation feature on English Wikipedia. Scroll to the Content Translation option on the Beta menu in Preferences, tick the box to enable it and click Save in the bottom left corner.
Important!
Please note, on the English Wikipedia the Content Translation tool is restricted to editors that are extended-confirmed (those with 30 days tenure and at least 500 edits). So you may need to contact an Wikipedia administrator with a list of usernames ahead of time to get new users extended-confirmed.
