{"id":36,"date":"2016-02-13T19:55:04","date_gmt":"2016-02-13T19:55:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thinking.is.ed.ac.uk\/wir\/?p=36"},"modified":"2016-02-13T19:55:04","modified_gmt":"2016-02-13T19:55:04","slug":"open-knowledge-meetup-at-national-library-of-scotland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thinking.is.ed.ac.uk\/wir\/open-knowledge-meetup-at-national-library-of-scotland\/","title":{"rendered":"Open Knowledge meetup at National Library of Scotland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 19th January 2016, I attended my first &#8216;<em>Open Knowledge<\/em>&#8216; meetup at the National Library of Scotland.<\/p>\n<p>Link here: <a href=\"https:\/\/attending.io\/events\/opendataedb19\" target=\"_blank\">Open Knowledge meetup at NLS<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In an informal friendly setting, with a lovely assortment of sandwiches, nibbles and drinks I was able to observe an equally lovely assortment of Open Knowledge initiatives espoused by the evening&#8217;s speakers including:<\/p>\n<p>Jeremy Darot on Edinburgh Open Data Map. Utilising lots of cool data to populate OpenStreetMap. Data like planning projects, schools, GP surgeries, shops, catchment areas, air quality, green belt areas &amp; much more besides.
