{"id":39,"date":"2018-05-14T22:28:42","date_gmt":"2018-05-14T22:28:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/thinking.is.ed.ac.uk\/wikidata-workshop\/?p=39"},"modified":"2018-08-14T23:39:40","modified_gmt":"2018-08-14T23:39:40","slug":"practical-women-in-medicine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thinking.is.ed.ac.uk\/wikidata-workshop\/practical-women-in-medicine\/","title":{"rendered":"Practical &#8211; Creating Wikidata lists for Women in Medicine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Listeria<\/strong> is a very powerful tool that lets you create dynamic bespoke lists pulling from Wikidata which you can read\/write to from Wikipedia.<\/p>\n<p>For it to work, you need to have a Wikipedia userpage in the first instance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Part 1 &#8211; Creating a userpage on Wikipedia.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Go to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Main_Page\">Wikipedia<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Step 2:<\/strong> Login with your same Wikidata login details.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> Click on the redlink at the top of the page which represents your username.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> A user page will be opened up. Add at least 1 character of text so you can click the blue Save button in the top right.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That&#8217;s your userpage created on Wikipedia!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Part 2 &#8211; Create a<em> subpage<\/em> for your Listeria list:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Type <b>User:<\/b><b>YOURUSERNAME<\/b><b>\/<\/b><b>WikidataList1<\/b> in the Wikipedia search bar.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the red link newly created when Wikipedia cannot find a page with the name of <em>Wikidata List 1<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Add at least 1 character of text within the body of the page in order to save the page e.g. \u201c<em>This is Wikidata list subpage 1<\/em>.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Click <b>Save <\/b>to create the page.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Part 3 &#8211; Subpage created. Otherwise it won&#8217;t work.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now click on &#8216;<strong>Save<\/strong>&#8216; and type &#8216;<em>created subpage<\/em>&#8216;. Click <strong>Save<\/strong> again to complete the process.<\/p>\n<p>Now you have an empty list page.
