  1. Create a Wikidata account<\/a> if you have not done so already (you can use the same login details as Wikipedia).<\/li>\n
  2. Have a look at our Wikidata pages on our University of Edinburgh IS Skills site<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  3. Email me ewan.mcandrew@ed.ac.uk<\/strong><\/span> if you have any questions after today.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Etherpad sheet<\/strong> <\/a>is there for you to share, take notes and share any of the cool Wikidata queries we explore or create during today’s session.<\/p>\n

    It is also where you can post questions. Anything I can’t answer, I will check with our helpful Wikidata community. Navino Evans has been our resident Wikidata expert for many years. You can follow him on Twitter @navinoevans<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    NB: Think of him as Wikidata version of the\u00a0 Paperclip helper from the early versions of Microsoft Word.<\/p>\n

    Navino Evans created the Histropedia site<\/strong><\/a> which creates visually dynamic timelines from Wikipedia pages and categories in minutes. View the category tree<\/strong><\/a> on Wikipedia.<\/p>\n

    Histropedia is one of many ways third party site that builds from the information in Wikipedia, as the largest reference work on the internet. More visualisations can be found at SeeAlso.org<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

    Imagine if the information stored in Wikipedia could be read by humans and<\/em> machines.<\/p>\n
