Adding an image<\/h2>\n

  1. Click Edit <\/strong>to access the Visual Editor once more.<\/li>\n
  2. Place<\/strong> the cursor where you want the image to appear on the page.<\/li>\n
  3. Click the Insert<\/strong> dropdown menu (circled in green above) and select Media<\/strong> from the list of options.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    You have two options. You can do a keyword search to find an image on Wikipedia\u2019s sister project, Wikimedia Commons (which has 58 million media files openly licensed<\/a> and ready to use) OR you can select the 2nd<\/sup> tab, Upload<\/strong>, and you can upload your own image to Wikimedia Commons so long as it is openly licensed<\/a> and you are allowed to release the image to Commons.<\/p>\n

    1. Type<\/strong> the keyword of \u2018cat\u2019.<\/em><\/li>\n
    2. Select<\/strong> an image you like the look of and click Use this image<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. Type<\/strong> a caption in the next screen (along with adding the same to the Alternative text<\/strong> box.)<\/li>\n
    4. Click Insert. <\/strong><\/li>\n
    5. Drag<\/strong> the bottom left corner of the image until you are happy with its size.<\/li>\n
    6. Click \u2018Save Changes\u2019<\/strong> with an edit summary of \u2018Added an image\u2019<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Adding an infobox<\/h2>\n

      An infobox appears at the side of a page to provide summary information.e.g. The Infobox on Barack Obama\u2019s page.<\/p>\n

      There are many different templates for Infoboxes so it depends on the article you are writing as to whether you should use Infobox Person<\/strong>, Infobox scientist<\/strong>, Infobox<\/strong> writer<\/strong>, Infobox school<\/strong>, Infobox hospital<\/strong> or many others.<\/p>\n

      As we are creating a Wikipedia userpage, the Infobox we can demonstrate is Infobox Wikipedia User.<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. Click Edit<\/strong> to enter Visual Editor.<\/li>\n
      2. Click on the Insert<\/strong> dropdown menu, and the option for Template<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      3. Type Infobox Wikipedia user<\/strong> and select the first option. Then click \u2018Add template\u2019<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        The screen that follows will look like this. It will suggest 88+ fields for you to add to your Infobox. You need only add the fields you feel are relevant and you have information about. We will add a few fields to get the infobox started.<\/p>\n

        1. Select<\/strong> the field for Name and type<\/strong> your name.<\/li>\n
        2. Select<\/strong> the field for Gender and type<\/strong> your gender.<\/li>\n
        3. Select<\/strong> the field for Country and type<\/strong> your country.<\/li>\n
        4. Click Insert. <\/strong>This will add the Infobox to your page. This can be added to and amended at a later date as you see fit.<\/li>\n
        5. Click Save Changes<\/strong> and add an edit summary of \u2018added an infobox\u2019<\/em>. Click Save Changes <\/strong>again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
