Follow these simple steps to set up your new blog on blogs.ed.ac.uk.<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Go to the blogs.ed.ac.uk<\/a> homepage.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Click on the Create a blog<\/strong> button. You will be asked to register for your own blogging site.<\/p>\n

3. Click Next.<\/strong> This will give you a list of existing blogs you\u2019ve already created (if any).\u00a0 Underneath this list is a form that will allow you to create a new blog. Fill in the fields as follows.<\/p>\n

    3.\u00a0\u00a0Blog Address<\/strong> – This is the URL or web address for your blog. Your blog address will start blogs.ed.ac.uk\/ followed by what ever name you choose after the \/\u00a0 Keep the address short, memorable and without capital letters or symbol, e.g. blogs.ed.ac.uk\/academicreflections. Note<\/strong><\/span> Once you choose your blog address you can not<\/em> change it.\u00a0 If you want a new address, you’ll need to set up a new blog.\u00a0 All the other fields below can be changed as often as you like.<\/p>\n

    4.\u00a0 Blog Title<\/strong> – this is the title that will appear in your blog\u2019s banner once it is created.<\/p>\n

    5.\u00a0 Blog Description<\/strong> – this is the sub-title that appears under your blog’s banner.<\/p>\n

    6.\u00a0 Blog Category<\/strong> – choose the category that fits your blog most closely.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    7.\u00a0 Make sure you read the\u00a0Terms and Conditions of Use<\/a>\u00a0and check the box underneath, once you have.<\/p>\n

    8.\u00a0 Pick a Template for your new site <\/strong>–\u00a0there is only one template currently available, more will be available in the future.<\/p>\n

    9.\u00a0 Once you are happy, click on the Create Blog<\/strong> button. It should only take a few seconds to create your new blog.<\/p>\n

    10. Your new blog is set to Private<\/strong> by default. Only you can see it. To chance the privacy settings go to Site Admin > Settings > Reading and choose your preferred option under the Site Visibility heading. You can also set privacy permissions for individual blog posts.<\/p>\n
