In particular,\u00a0 in establishing a Wikimedian in Residence role at the University of Edinburgh, and for the ongoing success and impact of this programme.<\/p>\n<p>I was delighted to accept, of course, but a bit embarrassed as I am not a particularly good editor of Wikipedia and I often get a bit grumpy when my edits are\u00a0 reverted.\u00a0 \u00a0I support Wikimedia UK because it is the right thing to do. Wikipedia is the largest open educational resource in the world and <a href=\"https:\/\/thinking.is.ed.ac.uk\/melissa\/2017\/02\/20\/roi\/\">essential for staff and students in higher education<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But I edit as a pass time, hobby,\u00a0 for my own distraction and amusement.<\/p>\n<p>I also invented the category\u00a0 for &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Category:Muses\">muses<\/a>&#8216;\u00a0 which I note now has 130 entries.\u00a0 \u00a0I started it for Stella Cartwright.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am honoured that the Board of Trustees of Wikimedia UK offered me Honorary Membership\u00a0of Wikimedia UK.
