21 Jul

After the success of the 2015 program, LTW is hosting 9 summer student internships across five departments. The cohort of students is compiled from various disciplines, including Business, Informatics, and Engineering.
Within the Website Program department Sanchit (read on here), Irene (full details here) and Kay (more here) are working to support the University’s new website functionality; this includes evaluating the changes in user behaviour and researching efficient ways to subtitle video content owned by the University.
In addition to supporting the University’s Open Education Policy, Educational Design and Engagement intern Martin is supporting the copyright clearing and release of Geosciences and Divinity learning and teaching resources. Read more here…
Annie, with Learning Spaces Technology, is working to ensure students have the same learning experience and access by reviewing the Audio Visual (AV) technology kits across 300 teaching rooms. Check out Annie’s great campus pictures and more details here…
Building upon an ILW prototype, Web, Graphics and Interaction interns, Arthur and Faye, are developing a tool for MyEd that shows students a personalised daily itinerary including classes, campus map with directions and travel estimates, and weather. Faye explains the process in full here…

To support the Media Hopper service, Digital Learning Applications and Media interns Connie (full information here) and Kamelia (read on here) are working to simplify the Creative Commons licensing process and to smooth migration of media content from the old Podcast Producer server.
Just passing it’s mid-way point, the students have written insights and reflections on their internship experiences below. They will present their outcomes in full at the LTW Summer Intern Showcase on August 18.
